The GOSPEL TRUTH
LETTER OF

CHARLES G. FINNEY

1858

To Julia Finney

15 February 1858

[MS in Finney Papers, supplement # 65]

Boston 15. Feb. 1858.

My Dr. Julia.

Uncle Hobart has been

on friday. Expects to visit you

as he says to take you to Brooklyn.

You must act your judgment about

going. Will it advance or retard

your spiritual life. This is with

me & I trust with you the great

question. If you think it best

to go, go, if not remain at home.

Let judgment rather than feeling

decide. We are well, with the

exception of my having an inflamed

eye. Your mother is gone to meeting

almost constantly. This morning

before 11. oClock she had gone to

her 3d meeting. The religious interest

in & about Boston is very extensive

& still extending. We hope to

be at home early in April.

I must write a word to William

Love to Miss Tucker &

Olivia & Elsa.

Your aff. Father
